Q: We sold our house in eight days and now some of our favorite neighbors whom we consider to be friends are upset that we sold “too low.” We only had one offer after a broker tour and two open houses but we got the price we asked. Does the neighbors’ anger make any sense?
A: No, it does not. You and your rep did a fine job in the selling of your home. If you sold your house too low you would have had eight offers on Day 1, not one offer on Day 8. You certainly have nothing to apologize for; if fact, you’re to be congratulated. If they still think you lowered their property values, they’re not friends, they’re just former neighbors.
